Africa Day - 11 February

BEES is honoured to present Africa Day - a dedicated deep dive into the current and future role of bioenergy in Africa’s evolving energy landscape.

Africa Day Conference

The Africa Day conference on 11th February will celebrate success stories from across Africa that draw on a broad spectrum of biogenic feedstocks, technologies, and energy-recovery pathways - from agricultural residues to municipal waste, from small-scale innovation to industrial deployment.

Through real-life case studies, The Africa Day Conferences will spotlight pioneering projects and reveal the scale of opportunity ahead for sustainable investment, local economic growth and technology collaboration.

Wednesday 11th February, Biochar Room

10:00   Carbon Removal in Africa: Standards, Traceability and Market Integrity
11:00   Biogas in Africa: an adaptable and scalable solution for converting organic residue streams into energy. Success stories and perspectives
14:00   Advancing pellet clean cooking across Africa
14:30   Agricultural residues for energy production, soil improvement and carbon removal - experiences, initiatives and perspectives (Part 1)
16:30   Agricultural residues for energy production, soil improvement and carbon removal - experiences, initiatives and perspectives (Part 2)

Africa Day will provide a unique platform to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and contribute to accelerating the deployment of sustainable bioenergy and bio-based solutions across the continent.

The end goal: scaling bioenergy to unlock its full environmental, economic and social potential through the sustainable use of local bioresources across the African continent.
