Caspar von Ziegner holds a degree in industrial engineering from the Technical University of Berlin. After seven years of experience in the energy sector, including as head of corporate development and authorized officer at Alliander AG, Caspar von Ziegner strived to build a business model in the field of biochar and carbon removal credits. Together with a strong investor as a partner, he was able to found Novocarbo in 2017 and take the position as CEO. Since his childhood, Caspar von Ziegner has a deep connection to nature and agriculture, as he grew up on a horse farm. He now lives in the countryside south of Hamburg with his wife and three children.
