Lars HÖGLUND
Architect Inventor
Butong

Lars Höglund graduated from Architecture School in 2006. His exam work investigated the creative process and led to the innovation of the Butong process. A process in which FR-UHPC (Fibre Reinforced - Ultra High Performance Concrete) is cast between two layers of bubble wrap – creating a CO2 optimized panel – which can be used for interior and exterior applications, as acoustic panel, ceilings or green walls.
The company, Butong, was created in 2009 – focusing on the translucent properties of the material. Shortly after it became clear that the material could be used for green walls and Butong has since become the obvious choice for living facades in the Nordic countries.
