GIZ Kenya
Evelyn Munihu is a clean energy and climate finance professional working at the intersection of bioenergy, market development and climate policy to accelerate Africa’s clean cooking transition. With over 12 years of experience in energy access and climate programming, she focuses on shifting clean cooking from fragmented interventions to scalable, investment-ready energy ecosystems. Through her work on the African Biodigester Component (ABC) project at GIZ Kenya, she engages with private sector actors, financial institutions and development partners to unlock scalable biodigester markets. Her current focus is on results-based financing (RBF) as a tool to de-risk investment, align incentives and drive performance-based expansion of clean cooking solutions. Evelyn brings a systems perspective on how bioenergy can move beyond technology deployment to become a catalyst for circular economy growth, climate resilience and inclusive rural transformation. She is particularly interested in how “Green Cooking” can be reframed as an integrated energy ecosystem combining finance, infrastructure and local enterprise to deliver lasting impact at scale across Africa.
