Madam Waste is a 100% African, female-owned social enterprise operating in South Africa and Rwanda. We exist to demonstrate that organic waste diversion is not only an environmental necessity, but a viable and scalable business opportunity. Our work focuses on transforming food and garden waste into valuable resources such as compost and biogas, while using these processes as platforms for skills development, training, and enterprise creation. Through decentralised waste-to-resource systems, we support climate action, reduce landfill dependency, and enable circular solutions that respond to the realities of African cities. By combining technical innovation, on-the-ground demonstration, and inclusive economic models, Madam Waste contributes to green job creation, urban resilience, and the transition toward regenerative, circular urban systems.
