For this, we use bacteria capable to grow on these products while releasing hydrogen through a dark fermentation process. In wastewater, there are sugars, proteins, lipids and minerals, all that bacteria need to grow. This is the main energy source of our system. Thus, our fermentation process is distinguished in 3 ways. i) we use biomass that interests no one today ii) we have a very efficient energy balance. With 1 MWh of energy consumed, we produce 4 MWh of biohydrogen and we save 10 MWh for industrial waste treatment (TRE=14 for 120 t/year). iii) Our circular economy process makes it possible to have an unparalleled carbon balance. For 1 kgH2 produced, we avoid emissions of 40 kgeqCO2.
